Our team is working to educate children and their families in an effort to prevent more children from being sexually abused. Through the use of dvds, workbooks and other programs we are increasing the awareness of this issue and providing children information on potential predators, tactics that predators use and ways the children can protect themselves.

In addition to heightening community awareness we have gotten involved in the sexual predator prevention statues due to various experiences with this problem from a personal perspective. We have had several friends and family members that have been taken advantage of and we feel that we must due all that we can to protect others from having to endure these problems.

Recently, the Wisconsin State Legislature adopted a new state, section 301.48 (copy of law), titles “Global Position System Tracking and Residence Requirement for Certain Sex Offenders.” This ground-breaking legislation is designed to prevent sexual predators from re-offending by requiring tracking by GPS bracelets, for life.

We are in the process of gathering signatures on a petition in support of this legislation to recommend that the State of Florida, the State of South Carolina and all other states also adopt a similar law to help not only our state but to set an example and lead the way for other states. We would also like to take what Wisconsin has done a step further by adding the following three objectives.

Ongoing Education and Awareness - Empowering our children and their families A Zero Tolerance policy – this will help to reinforce to sexual predators or offenders that we will prosecute all or any to the full extent of the law, thereby helping to prevent and all predators who may be thinking of committing these acts. Utilizing the current technology at security checkpoints and store checkpoints, have the bracelets registered in a central database that would alert the parole officers 24/7 of the location of the sexual predator; this could apply to movie theaters, malls, at sporting events, etc.
